{"id":6099,"date":"2010-08-03T10:39:47","date_gmt":"2010-08-03T14:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=6099"},"modified":"2010-08-08T17:08:01","modified_gmt":"2010-08-08T21:08:01","slug":"non-stop-bhangra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=6099","title":{"rendered":"Non Stop Bhangra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was emailed this clip by guest photographer MB Maher this morning.<br \/>\nIt gave me such a smile, I had to share it here.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-vimeo\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/13843890\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nonstopbhangra.blogspot.com\/2006\/01\/welcome-to-non-stop-bhangra.html\">Non Stop Bhangra<\/a> have been haunting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rickshawstop.com\/\">Rickshaw Stop<\/a> in San Francisco<br \/>\nfor well over five years now, but this is their first appearance in<br \/>\nLos Angeles, first at the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena and then this past<br \/>\nSaturday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grandperformances.org\/en\/gp\/homepage.html\">Grand Performances<\/a> in downtown Los Angeles.  Their<br \/>\nwillingness to hold Bhangra dance lessons before each show makes their<br \/>\nperformance particularly generous.  I&#8217;m a little concerned for MB Maher,<br \/>\nwho seems to skid into every shot, somehow pulling off<br \/>\nsingle-camera coverage of a 5,000 seat amphitheater as if he had a<br \/>\nfive-man crew.<\/p>\n<p>(I had to find out the name of those fabulous &#8220;skorts&#8221; the dancers were wearing.
