{"id":16705,"date":"2011-05-04T18:55:46","date_gmt":"2011-05-04T22:55:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=16705"},"modified":"2011-05-04T18:55:46","modified_gmt":"2011-05-04T22:55:46","slug":"wispy-spring-annuals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=16705","title":{"rendered":"Wispy Spring Annuals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><big>Along with the linaria I mentioned recently, some of the other wispy spring annuals I&#8217;ve been experimenting with in pots are this Anagallis.<br \/>\nA. monelii, the Blue Pimpernel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/2011\/52evening023.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And a little nemesia with long spurs, N. cheiranthus &#8216;Shooting Stars.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/2011\/52evening020.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The trachelium and white valerian are self-sown, into both paving and the garden. <\/p>\n<p>Trachelium caeruleum<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/2011\/418aft025.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p> I want to see more of this cheerful kind of volunteerism.  More diversity too.  Hence, the experiment every year with something new.<\/p>\n<p>Senecio stellata, about 3 feet tall, self-sown from a few plants last year, sidling up to tetrapanax.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/may%202011\/54morn020.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some flowering tobaccos like Nicotiana langsdorfii already self-sow for me. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/2011\/418aft019.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p> This year I&#8217;m hoping to add N. mutabilis to the roster of volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/may%202011\/52evening041.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And variegated honesty, Lunaria annua.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/2011\/418aft033.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anniesannuals.com\/\">Annie&#8217;s Annuals<\/a> or any good seed catalogue is a good source for recruiting future volunteers of the wispy, annual kind.<\/p>\n<p><\/big><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Along with the linaria I mentioned recently, some of the other wispy spring annuals I&#8217;ve been experimenting with in pots are this Anagallis.
