{"id":25950,"date":"2012-01-22T22:56:45","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T02:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=25950"},"modified":"2014-08-27T12:18:36","modified_gmt":"2014-08-27T16:18:36","slug":"an-afternoon-at-the-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=25950","title":{"rendered":"an afternoon at the museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<em>Modern design was born from the marriage of art and industry<\/em>.&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;The Architect and the Painter,&#8221; Jason Cohn and Bill Jersey<\/p>\n<p><big>I was worried the exhibit would be over by the time I finally scooted over to Los Angeles County Museum of Art&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacma.org\/art\/exhibition\/californiadesign\">Living in a Modern Way<\/a>,&#8221; open until June 3, 2012, part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pacificstandardtime.org\/\"><em>Pacific Standard Time<\/em><\/a>, an ongoing celebration of the works of Los Angeles artists between roughly 1945 and 1980, when the utopian notion of better living through design was taken very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>I could look at chairs all day.  This aluminum chair by R. M.
