{"id":34297,"date":"2012-10-24T11:35:19","date_gmt":"2012-10-24T15:35:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=34297"},"modified":"2012-10-24T11:35:19","modified_gmt":"2012-10-24T15:35:19","slug":"more-on-garden-shelves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agrowingobsession.com\/?p=34297","title":{"rendered":"more on garden shelves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><big>There was never any question I&#8217;d leave this alone, last seen in this iteration.<br \/>\n<center><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/september2012\/P1011959_zpscc8c49cc.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><br \/>\nThe nice thing about this arrangement is that it tucks under the eaves and keeps the pots dry during winter.<br \/>\nNot a big deal considering our underwhelming rainy season, but still a minor consideration.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/oct2012\/P1013200.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><br \/>\nIt made sense to put the planter with Senecio radicans up there, if only temporarily, since it needed the height to drape.<br \/>\nDoubling up the lower pots made sense for better weight distribution &#8212; and maybe because I brought home another agave (&#8216;Little Shark&#8217;).<br \/>\nThe olearia that was at the top now sits on the bricks at the bottom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/oct2012\/P1013198.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><br \/>\nCotyledon undulata &#8216;Silver Crown&#8217; in a small, shallow bowl was another obvious candidate for these shelves.  More reshuffling required.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve started doing something I swore I never would &#8212; keeping the plant tags displayed.  My memory is pure sheizen these days.<br \/>\nNote to self:  buy more gravel mulch.<\/p>\n<p>This winter (like last winter) I really want to get to work on some proper shelving.<br \/>\n<\/big><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There was never any question I&#8217;d leave this alone, last seen in this iteration.
