I was thrilled to carry this begonia over the winter, the pot turned on its side outdoors to keep it dry and dormant through the winter rains.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/?action=view&#038;current=67midmorn016.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/67midmorn016.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The solanums are leaping into growth and flower, even under our typical &#8220;June gloom&#8221; skies.  Love the gloom.  It&#8217;s not Meyerowitz&#8217;s Cape Light, it&#8217;s not the Pacific Northwest&#8217;s famous pearly light,  but it is a respite from the impending four months of unremitting sunshine, or Life in a Toaster Oven. <\/p>\n<p>Solanum rantonnetiii &#8216;Variegata&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/?action=view&#038;current=66smoke004.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/66smoke004.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Solanum pyracanthum<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/?action=view&#038;current=68eve008.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/68eve008.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Waverly&#8217; salvia has been blooming since at least February, and now its dusky bracts look especially purply against the bronze fennel.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/?action=view&#038;current=69morn036.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/69morn036.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A pot of succulent cuttings running amok.  Odds and ends get stuck in here as they inadvertently break off from their mother plants.<br \/>\nThe green aeonium is A. balsamiferum.
