Whether glistening from morning dew or transpiration, it&#8217;s a sight for sore (dry) eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/s52.photobucket.com\/user\/botanizeme\/media\/oct2019\/P1010571.jpg.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i52.photobucket.com\/albums\/g23\/botanizeme\/oct2019\/P1010571.jpg\" alt=\" photo P1010571.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"540\"\/><\/a><figcaption>&#8220;Through a process called transpiration, water and nutrients are taken up by plant roots from soil and delivered to the stem and leaves as part of photosynthesis. Some of the\u00a0water drawn up through the roots exits the plant through pores \u2013 or stomata\u2014in its leaves, hence the sweating. As this \u201dsweat\u201d evaporates, heat is removed from the air, providing a cooling effect.&#8221;<br><a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/science-news\/news-articles\/sweating-can-be-cool\">Sweating Can Be Cool<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The leaves of the tree aloe &#8216;Goliath&#8217; were a grimy, sooty mess just a few days ago.  Hosespray and rising humidity have restored them to good as new.
