The Palm-Leaf Begonia droopily luxuriating in the past couple days of mist and one overnight of a good, soaking rain.
Departing visitors from Massachusetts said they never want to vacation in February in Southern California again, that it’s a “different” cold, but cold just the same. (So many words for snow, maybe we need more words for cold.)
I would never say such a thing (while living in Massachusetts) for I know the coldest day in SoCal is 100 times better than February in Mass. Give me that sunshine 😉
Love this begonia. I might have to give it a try.
Saucy, I was surprised too, after the winter you’ve been having. But apparently we’ve got a “damp” cold.
I’ve heard lately of several gardeners who love this plant and I see why. I just read some brief bios on early begonia hybridizers in a past issue of Pacific Horticulture and it’s got me thinking differently about the species.
Beautiful shot of your Palm leaf begonia. I want one. 🙂
