Mystery Mullein

Of all the old seed packets kept stuffed in cigar boxes and metal tins, this one wasn’t saved.
Started from seed from Chiltern’s about two years ago. One central inflorescence branching into smaller spikes.
Leaves are green, not grey and felty. Looks a lot like Verbascum nigrum.

I love the purple and yellow together. I’m growing V. chaixii ‘album’ from seed and the flowers look very similar, just white. Will you be saving seeds from this? We could trade 🙂

Whatever it’s name…it’s a beauty…those contrasting colors are wonderful…and that soft yellow is divine.

Ryan, yes, I’ll be saving seeds and will let you know when I have some. Remind me if I forget!
Scott, I really like it too. The individual flowers are fairly small. It’s about 3 feet high now. I’m not sure if it will be biennial or perennial.

I have the white/purple variety too [green leaves] and I love it.

What a pretty plant. The flowers are lovely.

Wow, that’s a cool plant! Do you think it can take daily temps of 97 degrees? I’d love to try one in Houston. David/:-)
