Couple things caught my eye in the front garden tonight.
Santolina ‘Lemon Fizz’ has thickened up nicely over the summer into a sturdy chartreuse bun.
And one of my favorite indicators of the end of summer, the aeoniums coming out of dormancy, deepening in color and plumping up.
I try to picture you WALATing (walking around looking at things) after dinner, unwinding, observant. Luckily for us your camera was in hand.
That Santolina is a gem. love it. And aeoniums, wonderful
“a sturdy chartreuse bun” is now on my list of favorite descriptions.
Love the foliage tapestry… especially that santolina, and the aeoniums. Beautiful.
@’bug, yes, I remember when WALATing was coined by our Napa friend. Fortunately, the light is best when the day has cooled down.
@Deanne, I’m thrilled it’s made it past the fragile stage. It’s right in the line of fire for the Sunday paper — no mishaps so far.
@Rosenatti, I wish I had six or seven of them!
@Thanks, Kim. Aren’t those colors tangy together?
